Commune Structure - Bogdaniec

 

The Bogdaniec Commune is a rural commune located in the Gorzów county. Until 1998, it was a part of Gorzów Province. This agricultural commune covers an area of ​​112 sq km. The commune is located on the communication route from Berlin to Kalingrad through Kostrzyn/Oder and Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The seat of the commune is the village of Bogdaniec; it is also the largest settlement. The commune comprises 21 villages: Bogdaniec, Chwałowice, Gostkowice, Jasiniec, Jenin, Jeninek, Jeniniec, Jeże, Jeżyki, Krzyszczyna, Krzyszczynka, Kwiatkowice, Lubczyno, Łupowo, Motylewo, Podjenin, Racław, Roszkowice, Stanowice, Wieprzyce, and Włostów, with a total population of 7,089 inhabitants (see Table 1), including 50.7% women and 49.3% men. In 2002-2016, the number of inhabitants increased by 10.1%. The average age of inhabitants is 39.

The working-age population of the Bogdaniec Commune (i.e. men aged 18 to 64 and women aged 18 to 59) constitutes 63.3% of its total population, the pre-working age population constitutes 20.0%, and the post-working age population constitutes 16.7% of its total population (according to data of the Central Statistical Office of Poland as of 31 December 2015). This means that there are 4,488 working-age people. People of this age are the backbone of the economy, as they generate income and contribute to the development and proper functioning of the region. In the Bogdaniec Commune, 85 people out of 1000 inhabitants are in employment. 45.9% of all people in work are female and 54.1% are male. There are 178 unemployed persons, with the total registered unemployment in 2015 of 7.3% (9.8% of women and 5.2% of men).
